Mother’s Blessing Ceremony

A Mother’s Blessing is a very beautiful and special ceremony to honour the mother-to-be, blessing her as she embarks on this rite of passage into motherhood (or multiple motherhoods). It is a heartfelt & sacred alternative to, or as well as, the modern-day baby shower, inspired by the Navajo Blessingway ceremony.

A special moment for the mama-to-be to gather with her closest females, surrounded by love and support. This intimate ceremony creates a safe space to share stories, ease worries, and celebrate the incredible woman she is. The focus is on nurturing her, filling her with love, strength, and confidence as she embarks on this beautiful and transformative journey.

A Shanti Cinta Mother’s Blessing includes traditional rituals alongside some of my own creations, all held with deep love and care. Here’s what the ceremony may entail (it can be personalised depending on the mama’s preferences):

  • Sharing Stories & Advice

  • Meditation

  • Flower & Oil Foot Cleanse

  • Creating Blessingway Beads

  • Tying Us Together with a Red Thread

  • Natural Ultrasound (Belly Mapping & Painting)

  • Creating Labour Cards

  • Oracle Card Blessings

  • Poetry

  • Writing Postpartum Letters

  • Connection & Love Community Circle

The ceremony can be held at the mother’s home or a loved one’s - what matters most is that she feels safe and comfortable. If preferred, there's also the option to hire an external space (I can recommend some beautiful venues in and around London). Wherever the ceremony takes place, I’ll arrive early to lay flowers, light candles, smudge the area, and create a peaceful, welcoming space that awaits the mama and her circle of women.

This ceremony is truly heartfelt and meaningful—filled with love and unity, it will stay deeply rooted in the mother’s heart forever.
